Conventional wine grape production
At the Glavinič farm, we grow grapes from which we make our best wines with a protected geographical origin of the wine-growing region of Štajerska Slovenija, Ormoško – Ljutomerske gorice. Our vineyard is in one of the best locations around, in Vinski Vrh near Jeruzalem. The excellent, all-day sunny, concave location of our hills below Jeruzalem gives our grapes and wine special aromas.
We are located in Ormoško Ljutomerske gorice, the settlement of Vinski Vrh, which lies on the Jerusalem Wine Road. The name of the place itself suggests that the best wine-growing locations are found here.
The vineyard is planted on clayey – marly soil. The location is southwest, which means that it is illuminated by the sun all day long. The vineyard is included in the integrated grape production system. All grapes are hand-picked. The following varieties are planted: chardonnay, šipon, pinot noir, yellow muscat, muscat otonel and fragrant traminer.
The must is fermented in stainless steel barrels at controlled low temperatures of up to 18°C. This way, the wine retains a greater amount of natural carbon dioxide, visibly sparkles, and is therefore called a lively wine.
There is no absolute truth, nor are there any miraculous recipes for how to pair food and wine. The art of choosing wines with food is personal, and the concepts of taste are relative. That is why almost all authors of gastronomic books, especially French ones, advocate greater freedom in choosing wines with food.
We offer white and rose wines.
