Conventional wine grape production
At the Glavinič farm, we grow grapes from which we make our best wines with protected geographical origin of the wine-growing region Štajerska Slovenia, Ormoško – Ljutomerske gorice. We have a vineyard in one of the best locations around, in Vinski Vrh near Jeruzalem. The excellent, all-day sun, concave location of our hills below Jeruzalem gives our grapes and wine special aromas.
We are located in Ormoško Ljutomerskegorice, Vinski Vrh village, which lies on the Jeruzalem wine road. The very name of the place says that the best wine-growing locations can be found here.
The vineyard is planted on clayey – marly soils. The location is south-west, which means that it is exposed to the sun all day. The vineyard is included in the system of integrated grape production. All grapes are picked by hand. The following varieties are planted: chardonnay, rose hip, pinot noir, yellow muscat, otonel muscat and fragrant traminec.
The fermentation of the must takes place in stainless barrels at controlled low temperatures up to a maximum of 18°C. Thus, the wine retains a greater amount of natural carbon dioxide, visibly sparkles, and is therefore called lively wine.
There is no absolute truth, nor are there any miraculous recipes for pairing dishes and wines. The art of choosing wines to go with food is personal, and concepts of taste are relative. That is why, in general, all authors of gastronomic books, especially French ones, call for greater freedom in the choice of wines to accompany dishes.
We offer white and rose wines.
